HI,
I would like to do more flying between Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac and want to understand the requirements to do so.
As I understand it, Grand Cayman airport has a "slot system" that CIAA manages and requires each flight to apply for, and be issued, a time slot for take off/departure and landing/arrival. How does a GA pilot manage this? Costs?
I checked with Island Air, the FBO operator on Grand and they advised me I would need their assistance for the slot system, flight plan filing, airport security fee, and CIAA fees. The cost estimate was several hundred dollars for a single flight!! These fees seem very expensive!!
Anyone making these kind of flights regularly that can share their experiences?
Thanks!!!
